Apparently a woman named Candy has been anxious to get some information to my readers. She’s so passionate about her message that she’s fighting to overcome near-illiteracy to get it out. Unfortunately, she left her comments on old posts where most of you won’t get to see them. She seems so intent on reaching you that I thought I would help the poor lass out by relaying her message to you myself.
Candy would like you to know that you can get che@p phenterm1ne, r1talin, v a l i u m, and zoIoft online, without needing a do.ct.or.s perscripti0n. This is great news to many of you, I’m sure.
She also provided some links, but I’m sure you can find all that stuff through Google.
(Sigh. Fine! I’ll install Akismet. Jerks.)
Video Compression Gone Wrong
How does image compression work, and why does it create those ugly spots all over some videos and not others?
Top 64 Videogames
Lists of 'best games ever' are dumb and annoying. But like a self-loathing hipster I made one anyway.
Philosophy of Moderation
The comments on most sites are a sewer of hate, because we're moderating with the wrong goals in mind.
The Best of 2017
My picks for what was important, awesome, or worth talking about in 2017.
Quakecon Keynote 2013 Annotated
An interesting but technically dense talk about gaming technology. I translate it for the non-coders.
T w e n t y S i d e d
Told ya. Though apparently Candy does realize after enough futility that it’s a waste of time. After blocking nearly 600 spam, my Akismet installation now has nothing to do. Which is fine by me….
It seems to be working well. I might relax the moderation guidelines, which takes any post with two or more links and holds it for moderation. I hate when genuine comments get pulled out this way, and assuming Akismet keeps up the good work I’ll be able to put an end to that.
I think I had one false positive…. it wasn’t a problem. But I’m sure we have different types of commenters too.
SpamGourmet is also a good way.
