Congratulations to Jay Barnson, who won the Game-In-A-Year thing at Dream Games for his development of Frayed Knights. I’ve been following Frayed since it was announced and I’m glad to see the project has gone so well.
(I’m a victim of his ongoing development process, though. I keep meaning to check it out, but then he mentions some improvement or change he has in mind and I’ll decide to hold off until it’s in. Because really – you can only play it for the first time once.)
Congrats Jay.
What is Vulkan?
What is this Vulkan stuff? A graphics engine? A game engine? A new flavor of breakfast cereal? And how is it supposed to make PC games better?
Grand Theft Railroad
Grand Theft Auto is a lousy, cheating jerk of a game.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round
I'm not surprised a fighting game has an absurd story. I just can't figure out why they bothered with the story at all.
D&D Campaign
WAY back in 2005, I wrote about a D&D campaign I was running. The campaign is still there, in the bottom-most strata of the archives.
TitleWhat’s Inside Skinner’s Box?
What is a skinner box, how does it interact with neurotransmitters, and what does it have to do with shooting people in the face for rare loot?

That looks like big fun. I’m going to HAVE to give that a shot!
Needs polish. Lots of polish. It was good clean fun, though, and nice to see it bust up some RPG tropes with a hammer.
Thanks for the tip.
Thanks, Shamus.
Yeah, what’s currently available hasn’t been updated since April – it was what I completed within one year. My official submission for the indie game contest. It’s got plenty of problems, but I’m pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish within the deadline.
The full version is going to be bigger & cooler… but it’ll be a while. I’ve been using the feedback from the game (over 700 feedback forms have been received so far, though about 1/10th of them were were “content free”) as a guide to prioritizing changes.
But I’m back to the fun part of development right now – the more creative part, instead of the frantic bug-fixing part. It’s nice…

I was going to make the obvious joke, but Coyote made it months ago.
Edit: Finally got the right blasted link. Serves me right for posting tired.
